COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – As ProMedica Coldwater Regional Hospital celebrated the building’s 85th anniversary earlier this week, officials say the sale of the hospital to a Flint, Michigan-based nonprofit should still be completed by the end of the year.
Darrin Arquette, President of ProMedica’s Michigan acute care hospitals, told the crowd gathered Monday for a special anniversary ribbon cutting on the front steps of the hospital that the deal with Insight Health System is still on track, despite some initial delays.
Insight currently operates hospitals and healthcare facilities in Michigan, Ohio, New Jersey, Iowa, and Illinois, and aims to increase its presence in Michigan.
Officials from Insight Health System were on hand for the anniversary event this week.
Following the transaction, Insight plans to keep current hospital president Dan Schwanke and the remainder of the current leadership team intact, which they says will lead to a smooth transition for the hospital’s patients, employees, providers, and the surrounding community.
