COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Coldwater Community School Board of Education approved a Independent Contractor Agreement with Hampton Aquatics & Fitness LLC out of Battle Creek on Monday night to manage and operate the Browne Aquatic Center.
The hiring of Hampton Aquatics and Fitness was part of a five year Intergovernmental and Interlocal contract between the City of Coldwater and Coldwater Community Schools on the operation of the swimming pool facility which called for the hiring and oversight of a full-time aquatic director.

It was revealed this summer that the operation of the pool was in the red by over $300,000 per year. Numerous meetings were held to find a solution and Superintendent Paul Flynn said it was a team effort.
Among other things, Hampton Aquatics and Fitness teaches swim classes at the Battle Creek Family YMCA and the Oaklawn Fitness Center in Marshall.
