Frank Paul Poradzisz, 73, of Coldwater passed away peacefully Sunday, November 24, 2024 at his home, under hospice care, surrounded by his loving family.
A celebration of Frank’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 30, 2024 at Lighthouse Funeral & Cremation, 1276 Tate Trail, Union City, MI, 49094, with the Rev. Fr. Dan Hyman as celebrant. Interment will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Bronson.
Visitation will take place from 3:00-7:00 p.m. Friday, November 29, 2024 also at Lighthouse in Union City with a Rosary Service starting at 6:30 p.m.
Frank was born on December 10, 1950 to Joseph and Emily (Krzanowski) Poradzisz in Chicago, Illinois. He graduated from Chicago Vocational High School with the Class of 1968. Frank went on to complete his Journeyman in Tool & Die. He proudly served in the U.S. Army, where he was stationed in Korea, during the Vietnam War.
He worked at Union Tank Car Company in Chicago, Midwest Foundry in Coldwater until they closed, and later International Automotive Components in Mendon from which he retired in May 2014.
Frank married Phyllis Kostantzuk, but she preceded him in death February 8, 2009. He later married Carol Smith November 21, 2012 and she survives.
Frank enjoyed hunting deer, bear, and upland game, fishing, growing a large garden, playing pool, and bowling. He was a member of St. Mary’s Assumption Catholic Church in Bronson, Fraternal Order of Eagles 1907 in Coldwater, Eagle riders, and Branch County Fair. Frank also volunteered at the Branch County Humane Society.
In addition to his wife Carol Poradzisz of Coldwater, Frank is survived by his children Scott (Brianna) Poradzisz of Coldwater, Gregg (Jolene) Poradzisz of Angola, and Tiffany (Jason) Billings of Coldwater; grandchildren, Dawson, Evan, Macy, Gia Poradzisz, Brennen and Breanna Worman, Carson, Zoey and Harper Billings; great-grandchildren, Benjamin and Jackson Worman; siblings, Joseph (Kathy) Poradzisz of Calumet City, IL, Joyce (Bill) Hoffield of Alvaro, KY, and Linda Jasek of Schererville, IN; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Phyllis, and brothers, James and Jerome Poradzisz.
