COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Insight Health System of Flint has officially acquired ProMedica Coldwater Regional Hospital according to a report on the web site beckershospitalreview.com.
The report stated the acquisition officially took place this past Sunday. No official announcement has been made by officials at ProMedica.
Insight is a nonprofit healthcare provider. They currently operate hospitals and healthcare facilities in Michigan, Ohio, New Jersey, Iowa, and Illinois, and aims to increase its presence in Michigan.
It was announced September 16, 2024 that Insight Health System has signed a purchase agreement to acquire the Coldwater hospital. The transaction with Insight Health System was originally expected to close on or before November 1.
All hospital operations were scheduled to transfer to Insight upon completion of the transaction.
Insight plans to keep current Hospital president Dan Schwanke and the remainder of the current leadership team intact and they plan a smooth transition for the hospital’s patients, employees, providers, and the surrounding community.
The 87-bed hospital will become known as Insight Hospital and Medical Center Coldwater.
The hospital is comprised of 430 employees and has a level 4 trauma designation.
ProMedica took over operations of the hospital previously known as the Community Health Center of Branch County January 1, 2018.
