COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – A marketing agency representing Insight Health System made the official announcement on Thursday morning that the former ProMedica Coldwater Regional Hospital is now Insight Hospital and Medical Center Coldwater.
The Flint-based Insight Health System officially acquired the organization from ProMedica on December 1.
Dr. Jawad Shah, founder and CEO of Insight Health System, said in the statement said, “We’d like to thank ProMedica and the hospital leadership team for their partnership and professionalism as we work together to ensure a smooth transition and continuity of care for patients, staff and providers throughout this process. For over 85 years, Coldwater Regional Hospital has provided critical medical and wellness services to the people of Coldwater and surrounding communities, and the Insight team is excited to build upon that legacy with our unique brand of patient care that is second to none.”
The 87-bed hospital has approximately 430 employees and a Trauma Level IV designation.
Insight currently operates hospitals throughout Illinois, Michigan and Ohio, with a location in California expected to come online in 2025.
It was announced on September 16, 2024 that Insight Health System has signed a purchase agreement to acquire the Coldwater hospital. The announcement came less than a year after ProMedica Health Systems, Incorporated exercised its option to terminate the proposed sale of the Coldwater Hospital to American Healthcare Services.
The transaction with Insight Health System was originally expected to close on or before November 1.
