Jean Marie Unroe, 60, of Coldwater passed away Friday, December 6, 2024 in her home.
Cremation has taken place with a memorial service to be held Wednesday, December 18, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. at Lockwood Community Church in Coldwater.
Visitation will be held the same day from 1:00 p.m. until time of service at the church.
Arrangements are being cared for by Dutcher Funeral Home.
Jean was born October 10, 1964, to Carl and Sara (Phipps) Semmelroth in Ann Arbor, Mi. She married Steve T. Unroe on September 24, 1994, in Union City, MI.
Jean attended the University of Michigan where she obtained abachelor’s degree in anthropology and a master’s degree in social work.
Jean devoted her life to helping others as a member of Semmelroth Counseling. Her caring nature drove her commitment to volunteerism as she offered her time to various groups and causes.
She was a member of the Girl Scouts for her daughters’ entire involvement, a volunteer at Hidden Ponds Horse Rescue, and a member of P.E.O.In her free time, she enjoyed quilting and scrapbooking, was an avid reader, and most of all enjoyed spending time with her family.
Jean is survived by her loving husband of 30 years Steve Unroe; her children Katherine Unroe and Anna Unroe; her siblings David (Joanna) Semmelroth; Jennifer Semmelroth; Miley (Tia) Semmelroth and Melissa Semmelroth; and many loving nieces and nephews.
Jean was preceded in death by her parents.
