BRANCH COUNTY, MI (WTVB) – The Cardinal bowlers swept the Sturgis Trojans at Midway Lanes on Monday in a non conference meet.
The Coldwater girls won their match 27 to 3. They won both regular games 670 to 469 and 673 to 428, taking totals 1343 to 897. They also took both Baker games, 104 to 56 and 134 to 108 taking totals 238 to 164. Coldwater was led by Madison Shuler with a 153 and Kylie Cook with a 153.

The Coldwater boys also won their match 27 1/2 to 2 1/2. The Cardinals took both regular games 867 to 714 and 821 to 765, taking totals 1688 to 1479. They also took both Baker games 168 to 104 and 156 to 151, taking totals 324 to 255. Coldwater was led by Kahle Weis with a 201, Vinnie Beekman a 200 and Ian Shindler a 172.
The Varsity bowlers will head to Marshall on Saturday for a Scotch Doubles tournament.
The Quincy bowling teams opened their seasons Monday night by sweeping Constantine at Midway Lanes.
The Orioles won the Boys match 27-3. Quincy swept baker play 150-132 and 177-125 for a quick 10 point lead. In singles action the Orioles tallied 7 wins capturing overall totals.

The Quincy girls rallied for a 17-13 victory. Quincy dropped backer play 10-0 shooting 73 and 84 to Constantine’s 101 and 132. Knowing they needed to respond in single action Quincy was led by Ally Janssen who shot 157 leading all of the Quincy girls on the night while Clare Robertson shot a 103, and Danica Swift a 95 to capture three points in game one.
Game two found Janssen again scoring with a 126, Lillian Robison with a 85, Swift a 102, and Elizabeth Craig with a 119. That was enough to capture overall totals on the night 1,117-808.
Bronson swept Niles Brandywine. The Vikings won the boys match 22-8 and the girls match 16-14.
