A funeral service will be held Saturday, December 14, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Hillsdale, MI. Interment will follow the service at St. Paul’s Lutheran Cemetery in Hillsdale, MI.
The family will receive guests for visitation that morning from 9:30 a.m. until time of service at the church.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Dutcher Funeral Home in Coldwater, MI.
Jerry was born March 22, 1938, to Raymond and Bertha (Reisig) Beadle. Jerry was the oldest of five children, and a loving brother to Carol (Sid) LaBrake, Alan (Pam) Beadle, Randall (Jesse) Beadle, of Saginaw, and Rick (Deborah) Beadle, of Gaylord.
Jerry graduated from Arthur Hill High School in Saginaw in 1956. He served honorably in the United States Army for three years and worked for Saginaw Steering Gear as an inspector at Plant 3 and as a metallurgical tech at Plant 7 for many years, retiring in 1995.
Jerry married Carol Webb on April 3, 1965, in Saginaw, MI, and they would have celebrated 60 years of marriage in a few months. They lived outside of Tuscola for many years where they raised five children: Janet (John) Sternberg of Ludington; James (Carole) Beadle of Burleson, Texas; Sharon (Howard) Anderson of St. Petersburg, Florida; Susan (Donald) Germann of Goldwater; and Matt (Carol) Beadle of Lihue, Kauai.
Jerry had 12 grandchildren that he cherished: Jeff, Stacey, Jacob, Crystal, Robin, Aaron, Oliver, Allison, Kyle, Tierney, Tayden, and Treysyn, as well as 9 great grandchildren: Jayden, Shelby, Macie, Landyn, Eastyn, Liam, Tommy, Zoey, Lexi, and one great great grandchild, Hayes. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Family was very important to him, and he looked forward to gatherings in which we all could be together.
Jerry enjoyed puttering on his mini farm, the Lil Bit Ranch, named as it had a little bit of everything. We kids have great memories of horse riding, chickens, and hoeing beans! We were raised in the Lutheran faith and attended church, filling a pew, at St. Luke’s Lutheran church in Vassar, where he served as an elder and trustee.
In 1999, he and Carol bought a small farm in Allen, MI and became members of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Hillsdale. They resided in Allen until 2023 when they moved to the city of Coldwater. Jerry was also a member of the Jonesville Lions club and the Hillsdale County Pheasants Forever.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Carol LaBrake; and sons, James and Gerald Raymond.
Jerry is now at peace and free from pain. We know we will be with him again.
Memorial donations are suggested to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Hillsdale or to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
John 3:16: “For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.”
