STURGIS, MI (WTVB) – The Sturgis Department of Public Safety took a juvenile from the South Bend area into custody after a number of vehicles were broken into on the north side of the city on Friday morning.
An exact number of vehicle break ins were not reported by authorities.
A group of individuals matching the description provided by witnesses were spotted by police but they managed to get away.
It’s believed they were involved with a vehicle theft in the area of Cheshire and Nottingham Drives.
Sturgis residents continued to report vehicle larcenies throughout the day on Friday. It’s believed the later break ins were also conducted by the same individuals.
