WASHINGTON, D.C. (WTVB) – Bronson City Manager Brandon Mersman recently received the Credentialed Manager designation from the International City/County Management Association.
Mersman is one of over 1,300 local government management professionals currently credentialed through the ICMA Voluntary Credentialing Program.
According to a news release from the Association, in order to receive the credential a member must have significant experience as a senior management executive in local government. They also have to earn a degree, preferably in public administration or a related field; and demonstrated a commitment to high standards of integrity and to lifelong learning and professional development.
Mersman is qualified by more than nine years of professional local government executive experience. Prior to his appointment in 2015 as City Manager, he served as the Assistant to the Township Manager for the Charter Township of Brighton.
Mersman also served as a Project Administrator/Management Intern and grant writer at the City of Holland.
He has also a member of the Branch County Economic Growth Alliance (Vice-President), the Bronson Community Foundation (Vice President), the Branch County 911 Board, and the Bronson Area Fire Association.
