COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – A storm system moving in the from the Great Plains is expected to bring a mix of rain and snow to the start the New Year across Branch County and southern lower Michigan.
The National Weather Service says rain will change over to light snow Tuesday afternoon, with a north wind around 15 mph gusts and gusts as high as 30 mph. Total daytime snow accumulation of less than one inch is possible.
For New Year’s Eve, snow, possibly mixed with rain, will occur during the early evening hours, then becoming all snow after 7:00 p.m. New snow accumulation of less than one inch is expected.
For New Year’s Day, there is a 40 percent chance of snow, with wind gusts as high as 30 mph. The snow should end by early Thursday morning.
