WASHINGTON, D.C. (WTVB) – Fifth District Republican Congressman Tim Walberg is now the Dean of the Michigan Congressional Delegation after he was sworn in on Friday for the 119th Congress.
Walberg is marking his ninth term in Congress. He will serve as Chairman of the House Committee on Education and Workforce.
Walberg will also serve on the House Committee on Natural Resources.
With the Republicans holding a slim majority in the U.S. House, Walberg says the clock is ticking.
In a statement released by his office, Walberg said, “It is an honor and a privilege to continue serving the constituents of Michigan’s 5th Congressional District in the 119th Congress. For the next two years, I will work hard with my fellow members of the House and President-elect Trump to promote policies that will lower costs for families, promote American energy dominance, secure our borders, and uphold our national security.”
