COLDWATER TOWNSHIP, MI (WTVB) – For the second time this week, Coldwater Township has been awarded a solar project grant by the Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes and Energy through its Renewable Ready Communities Award Request for Proposals.
EGLE has approved a $210,000 grant to the township to conduct the proposed scope of work for the Cold Creek Solar project. The grant will expire on December 31, 2028.
The DTE project is in the northeast corner of Coldwater Township.
The Coldwater Township Planning Commission approved a special land use permit request from DTE Energy as well as a site plan last September for the construction and operation of the project.
Properties along Newton Road, Jonesville Road and North Fiske Road were the subject of the special land use permit request by DTE.
