COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Programs Committee for the Branch County Association of REALTORS® (BCAR) met on Tuesday and presented checks to several local charities.
The money was raised during the association’s annual Christmas Party fundraiser.
BCAR members and businesses in our community donate items to the annual event. Attendees bid on these donated items to raise funds that are in turn donated to local charities to help those in need.
The following checks were presented to area charities on Tuesday:
$500 The Hope Café’s initiative to feed the homeless
$500 Branch County Literacy Council provides free literacy instruction to adults
$500 Beginnings Care for Life offers parenting education, pregnancy tests, ultrasound confirmation, fatherhood mentoring, and lots of baby supplies
$1,000 Branch County Night to Shine is an unforgettable prom night experience for people with special needs
$1,178 Altrusa’s “Happy Feet” to buy boots for local children.
$2,000 Reach the Forgotten which is a Christian ministry for inmates.
$2,000 Foster Closet of Branch County provides clothing, furniture and aid for the Foster Care Community.
$5,000 Coach Eby Home Store’s Scholarship Fund which awards scholarships to local students going into the trades.
