BRONSON, MI (WTVB) – A fire in an unattached garage which broke out late Thursday afternoon on the north side of Bronson caused about $60,000 worth of damage.
Bronson Fire Chief Scott Wilber says Branch County Central Dispatch notified the Bronson Fire Department of the fire in the 700 block of North Matteson Street shortly before 5:00 p.m..
Fire crews arrived to find flames showing from the exterior of a 24 x 30 pole barn.
Wilber reports the fire was quickly brought under control and the house, which was 12 feet away, was not damaged.

The Coldwater Fire Department provided one engine through their automatic mutual aid agreement.
LifeCare Ambulance, Bronson Police and the Branch County Sheriff’s department also responded.
Firefighters were on the scene for about three hours. No injuries were reported.
Wilber says the homeowner was home at the time and noticed the blaze on his security camera system.
The cause of the fire is yet to be determined.
