COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – With bitter cold weather expected to move in this weekend, the Coach Eby Youth and Family Center in Coldwater will serve as an emergency warming center starting at 7:00 p.m. on Sunday evening, January 19.
The Emergency Warming Center will be open 24 hours a day until the temperatures rise.
Cots and blankets for sleeping at night as well as meals will be provided.
Anyone in need of shelter from the frigid temperatures and wind chills expected to drop to around 20 degrees below zero is invited.
Volunteers are needed during all hours day and night to staff the emergency warming center and assist those that arrive.
All volunteers will need to complete a background check that can be run on the spot. If you want to volunteer, call the center at (517) 278-5031 or message their

The Eby Youth and Family Center is in need of gift cards from local grocery stores to purchase food, beverages, toiletries, and paper supplies.
Cash, check, Paypal are welcome as well, just put warming shelter in memo.
The Eby Center has outerwear available if you need it in their Coats for Kids and
Families room.
