JoEllen Upston, 81, of Tekonsha was welcomed in the arms of Jesus Friday, January 17, 2025 at her home surrounded by family.
A celebration of JoEllen’s life will take place at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 22, 2025 at Lighthouse of Tekonsha, 616 North Main Street, Tekonsha, MI with Pastor Brian Hice of Community of Christ Church in Coldwater officiating. Interment will follow at Riverside Cemetery in Tekonsha.
Visitation will be held from 5:00-8:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 21, 2025 at Lighthouse of Tekonsha.
JoEllen was born March 15, 1943 to George and Chanda (Kirby) Clark in Marshall, Michigan. October 24, 1959 she married Clarence M. Upston in Coldwater. He preceded her in death June 22, 2011.
Over the years JoEllen worked at the Coldwater State Regional Center, K- Mart in Marshall and Walmart in Coldwater.
She enjoyed making jewelry, board games, playing cards and dominos, crocheting, cross stitching, and feeding and watching birds. She was a member of Community of Christ Church in Coldwater.
Surviving JoEllen are her son Ross (Anita) Upston of Leonidas; her daughter, Jackie Lamb of Tekonsha; her grandchildren, Eric (Frankie), Chad (Kelli), Matthew (Kat), Tammy, Samatha, Erika, Timothy; many great-grandchildren; her brother-in-law, Tom Upston; her sisters-in-law, Deb Taylor, Madilyn Upston, Linda Upston; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; her sisters, Juanita Prater and Marda Boston; and her brothers, George Clark, Kenneth Clark, and James Clark.
