Everett S. “Mick” Van Every Jr., 81, of Coldwater passed away January 19, 2025 at his home.
A funeral service will be held Friday, January 24, 2025 at 12:30 p.m. at Dutcher Funeral Home in Coldwater. Interment will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery.
Visitation will be held Thursday, January 23, 2025 from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at Dutcher Funeral Home.
Mick was born on December 24, 1943 to Everett and Elsie (Mills) Van Every Sr. in Coldwater.
He began his career as a diesel mechanic. This entailed many years at ATL retiring in Ft. Wayne, followed by Swift & Skidmore Trucking in Bronson.
Mick was a member of the Moose Lodge #677, where he spent many terms as the Governor of the Lodge. He was a Union Steward for teamsters, and a member of the oldest men’s pool league in the US. In his free time, he enjoyed watching NASCAR, walking, teaching others anything he had learned and watching football.
Mick was always willing to help others out. He took many trips out west, especially to Montana where his brother lived. Most of all Mick loved to spend time with his friends and family, his dogs and every moment he could with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Mick is survived by his children Tracie (John) Johnson; Brad (Crystal) Van Every; Everett (Brittany) Van Every III; Derek (Nicole) Van Every; his foster son Charlie Shireman; his step-son Don Clearwater; his previous spouse Diana Clearwater; his step-siblings John; Elizabeth; George; his sister-in-law Betty Van Every; his grandchildren Shad; Tyler; Logan; Brittany; Cameron; Bralynne; Leslie; Lucas; 11 Great Grandchildren and his special friend Daisy.
Mick was preceded in death by his parents; his stepparents John (Wilma) Tompkins; his brother Jerry Van Every; his children Cherrie Van Every; and Chad Van Every.
