COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The temperatures have gone back above zero but with the weather forecast calling for the mercury to hover around 10 degrees above zero over the next two nights, the Coach Eby Youth and Family Center in Coldwater has decided to keep their emergency warming shelter open until at least Saturday.
The Emergency Warming Center at 89 West Chicago opened on Sunday night. It’s available 24 hours a day for anyone who needs to get out of the cold.
Cots and blankets for sleeping at night as well as meals are being provided.
Wednesday night was the busiest night this week as almost 12 persons were in the shelter.
At least eight were there on Tuesday night when the temperature in Coldwater dipped to six degrees below zero and the wind chill got as low as 23 below.
If you need additional assistance to get through this cold spell, call 2-1-1.
