BUTLER TOWNSHIP, MI (WTVB) – A portion of Jonesville Road had to be shut down to traffic early Friday afternoon as crews battled a structure fire.
Quincy and Coldwater firefighters were dispatched to 790 Jonesville Road for a building fire at 11:47 a.m. Friday. First arriving units found heavy smoke coming from a large barn and declared a working fire. Tekonsha and Lakeland fire departments then responded with tankers to provide water supply.
According to the Quincy Fire Department, crews made entry into the building to find fire in the walls and attic space. Interior and exterior steel siding covering an old wood frame barn made for extensive work to control and extinguish the fire.

A large addition and its contents were able to be saved from the fire but did suffer smoke and water damage. A nearby home was undamaged.
The fire is believed to have started from a wood stove pipe going through a wall.

No injuries were reported. Crews were on scene for nearly four hours.
