COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – There have been many rumors posted on social media in recent days about Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents.
One rumor making the rounds is that they paid a visit to the Clemens Food Group in Coldwater.
Just like a lot of things posted on Facebook and other social media platforms, the rumors about ICE agents at Clemens so far have been unfounded.
A message has been left with a Clemens spokesperson.
Meanwhile, false information about ICE agents at the El Ranchero grocery store on Portage Road in Kalamazoo County led the store manager to post on Facebook there was no ICE activity and that it was safe to shop there.
The nonprofit El Concillio also posted on social media urging people to not share information that was not verified and reliable to avoid generating “unnecessary panic in our community.”
Detroit Mayor Mike Duggan says he is expecting ICE to ramp up efforts there over the next four years but hasn’t seen anything yet.
The Lansing Waverly Community School District says they will protect students from ICE agents following President Trump’s executive order allowing ICE to make arrests at schools, hospitals, and churches. Superintendent Kelly Blake says their stance is based on the 1982 U.S. Supreme Court decision in the Plyler v. Doe case that allowed undocumented children access to public education in the United States.

The same people spreading these lies care nothing about the 300,000 undocumented children that were brought across the border and the fact that their whereabouts is unknown . Not to mention the illegals who have committed heinous crimes against Americans. If you are here illegally, you have violated federal law and will be returned to the country of origin. Stop endangering people with lies.
