BRONSON, MI (WTVB) – The Coldwater Boys Bowling teams traveled to the Bronson Strike Zone on Sunday for the 8th annual Sturgis Trojan Invitational.
The Coldwater varsity managed to finish in fourth place.
The Varsity boys bowled regular games of 840 and 746 for a 1,586, then they bowled a eight game Baker block with a total of 1,422, for a total qualifying score of 3008. The Cardinals were fifth out of eight qualifying teams.
Coldwater beat Portage Central three games to one in a first round of best of five Baker games.
They advanced to face #1 qualifier Niles in the semifinals where they were beaten three games to two.
The loss put Coldwater into the consolation round against Pennfield. The Panthers defeated Coldwater three games to one.
The J.V. squad finished 14th with a qualifying block of 2,334.
