COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Two suspects were arrested and booked at the Branch County Jail after two persons were pepper sprayed late Saturday night on South Monroe Street just south of U.S. 12.
Both male suspects are said to be from Coldwater. According to the Branch County Jail booking sheet, they were both booked on two counts of assault. A 24-year-old posted a $15,000 cash or surety bond while a 20-year-old posted a $15,000 personal recognizance bond.
Both are expected to be formally charged during a yet-to-be scheduled arraignment in Branch County District Court.
The incidents were reported at around 11:00 p.m. and were captured on the City of Coldwater’s South Monroe Street camera.
A video showed two men were pepper sprayed when they confronted the suspects about apparent video tapping activities outside of a business.
At least three police cars were at South Monroe and West Pearl after the incident was reported. A Life Care Ambulance treated the two men who were sprayed.
Coldwater Police continue to investigate.
