ANGOLA, IN (WTVB) – A man who was being sought by the Steuben County Sheriff’s Office for being a fugitive non-compliant registered sex offender was found dead in an Angola residence on Wednesday.
The Herald Republican in Angola reports 34-year-old Mitchell Wayne Hephner was found deceased in a home on North Martha Street. WPTA-TV in Fort Wayne also reported that Hephner was found dead.
An official cause of death was not released by the Sheriff’s Department. They only stated in an updated press release that Hephner had been located.
Hephner was being sought for allegedly failing to comply with Indiana’s Sex and Violent Offender Registry requirements.
The Sheriff’s Office thanked all of those who assisted with tips and information during this investigation.
