COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Branch County Administrator Frank Walsh told the Board of Commissioners during Tuesday’s meeting he has interviewed three candidates for the Deputy Administrator/Finance Director position.
Walsh says he will be conducting second interviews adding that if they move forward with a candidate, he would like an additional interview with elected officials.
The total annual cost for the position would be $130,000 which would include a salary of between $90,000 and $98,000 plus $35,000 in benefits.
It’s hoped someone can be in place by the middle of April.
When he first pitched the idea to County Commissioners last month, Walsh said the county operates an $80 million annual budget with no oversight from an experienced finance director or Certified Public Accountant, something that Walsh felt was an aberration.
