COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Branch I.S.D. Board of Education selected the Michigan Association of School Boards during a special meeting on Wednesday to conduct the search for a new Superintendent.
Current Superintendent Kris Jenkins announced last month she will be retiring as of June 30.
Jenkins has served as the B.I.S.D. Superintendent since July of 2018 and has been in education for 36 years.
The board made their selection after interviewing representatives from the Michigan Leadership Institute and the Michigan Association of School Boards.
The Michigan Leadership Institute assisted the B.I.S.D. Board during the last Superintendent search seven years ago when Jenkins was hired to replace Joe Lopez.
It’s hoped the position can be pre-posted Friday. A salary and a search timeline also has to be established. The association is also hoping to get input from stakeholders.
