BRANCH COUNTY, MI (WTVB) – Branch County will send 17 wrestlers to Ford Field in Detroit for the M.H.S.A.A. Individual Finals after they finished in the top four of their weight classes on Saturday during the Individual Regionals.
The Union City Chargers and the Bronson Vikings both competed at the Division Four regional hosted by Martin.
Union City advanced eight to the Motor City including regional champions Logan Mears at 138 and Alex Boyer 150.
Second place finishers were Kaden Russell at 120 and Aidan Taylor at 144. Mitchell Graham was third at 126. Fourth place finishers were Blayne Crance at 106, Mason Hawthorne at 132 and Montana Connell at 157.

Bronson sent six wrestlers to the state finals including Layne Knisely who won the 165 pound championship. Knisely also recorded his 150th career victory.
Other Vikings who advanced were Mason Lindsey who was second at 190, Connor Harvey finished third at 215, Sam Tappenden was fourth at 285, Collin York was second at 150 and Gabe Erwin was third at 157,
Quincy’s Landon Beardon punched his ticket for the MHSAA Finals by finishing third at 165 points on Saturday at the Division Three Regional at Williamston.
Two from Bronson are heading to the M.H.S.A.A. Girls Wrestling Finals at Ford Field. McKenna Webster won the Portage Northern regional title at 140 pounds and recorded her 100th career victory. Kailynne Scare was third at 190 pounds.
