COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Branch County Adult Education is now in its sixth year of being handled by the Branch I.S.D. after grant funding for Coldwater Community Schools ran out in 2019.
Jan Storrs has been serving as the director of the Branch County Adult Education program since that time and she says enrollment was full last fall thanks to the demand for English as a Second Language.
But now there are more opportunities thanks to local donations.
She said a small class is being held on site at Clemens Food Group as their employees make up a majority of the Adult Ed students.
In addition, Kellogg Community College Lifelong Learning Department is offering free English language classes in Coldwater.
The six-week “Conversational English for Community Living” classes are designed to help community members enhance their conversational English skills in a low-pressure, supportive environment.
The classes are open to everyone, regardless of their native language, and will be held at KCC’s regional Grahl Center campus on Seeley Street in Coldwater.
Advance registration is required. The classes are offered at no cost thanks to grant funding from the Forever Fund of the Branch County Community Foundation.
