COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – A Quincy man was arraigned on Wednesday in Branch County District Court on three charges following what the Branch County Sheriff’s Department described as a physical domestic disturbance.
44-year-old Jonathon Edward Luckadoo was charged by Branch County Prosecutors with assault with intent to do great bodily harm less than murder, third degree child abuse and domestic violence in connection with the alleged incident on Tuesday.
A $1,000 cash or surety bond was set. Among the conditions set if he should post bond is that Luckadoo can not have any contact with the alleged victim.
According to court documents, Luckadoo is accused of strangling, suffocating and striking the alleged victim following an argument between the two.
The Branch County Sheriff’s Department investigated. Not guilty pleas were entered on Luckadoo’s behalf during the arraignment.
A probable cause hearing was scheduled for March 4 with a preliminary exam on March 11.
