BRANCH COUNTY, MI (WTVB) – Vinnie Beekman of Coldwater and Morgan McConn of Bronson qualified for the singles portion of the M.H.S.A.A. Bowling Finals on Saturday by finishing in the top seven during their regional competition.
Beekman punched his ticket to the state finals as he finished fifth in the Division Two regional at Continental Lanes in Kalamazoo. Beekman had a six game total of 1,129 which included games of 247 and 234. In all, Beekman had four games over 200.

His teammate Ian Schindler finished in eighth with a total of 1,199 as he missed the last transfer spot by 12 pins. He had a high game of 241. Schindler also had games of 223 and 210.
All six Coldwater bowlers finished in the top 40. Lennon Swick was 25th with a high game of 222, Brady Hawver was 34th with a high game of 201, Zach Robison was 39th with a high game of 203 and Kameron Corwin was 40th with a high game of 191.
None of the Coldwater girls were able to qualify for the State Finals but they all finished in the top 31. They were led by Kylie Cook who was 17th. Cook had a high game of 194. Ashlyn Cleckner was 18th and had a high game of 190. Madison Shuler was 24th, Ashlyn Caswell 25th, Alana Houtz 29th and Makenna Dirschell was 31st.
McConn won the Division Four girls regional championship at M-66 Bowl by 49 pins. She had a total of 1,116 which included a high game of 203.

Heidi Squires was 12th with a high game of 211. Gracie Marks was 24th, Makayla Lilly was 26th and Alaina Vickers was 37th.
None of the Bronson boys were able to advance but they all finished in the top 30. Clayton Shortridge missed the state finals by 13 pins as he finished eighth with 1,045 which included a high game of 203. Drew McConn was 15th as he had a high game of 202. Jason Greenfield was 17th with a high game of 207. Josh Friedel was 24th while Mason Schrader was 30th.
