COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – A new program has been started at Coldwater High to help students at risk of not graduating.
The Cardinal Academy is a first year program being led by teacher Janice Grabowski and overseen by Assistant Principal Bryan Shirk.
Cardinal Academy offers a self-paced, online learning program in a single classroom setting.
This structure allows students to balance academic progress with personalized support.
In addition to academics, the program emphasizes life skills and financial literacy, made possible through partnerships with the local community.
School psychologist Annie Wulliman leads group sessions to help students set goals, work through challenges, and address past struggles.
Cardinal Academy serves about 25 students, with that number steadily increasing. Some follow alternative schedules to handle job or family responsibilities.
