COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – A $2.8 million project to renovate the courtrooms in the Branch County Courthouse is scheduled to take place this summer.
Architect Stan Skopek updated Branch County Commissioners on the project during their work session on Tuesday.
He said the drawings are almost complete and will be presented to the Judges.
The drawings will go out for bid by March 17 with bids being due on April 14.
The Branch County Board of Commissioners gave formal approval last October for renovations to the Circuit, District and Probate courtrooms.
Circuit Court Judge Bill O’Grady said at that time the courtrooms are long overdue for renovations to meet A.D.A. compliance.
The project is being paid for by American Rescue Plan Act funds, the sale of the old Michigan Indigent Defense Commission office at 61 East Chicago and from grants.
