COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – After months of questions and confusion, there will be a car show and swap meet at the Branch County Fairgrounds during Mother’s Day weekend in May after all.
After the show which has been held for over three decades was cancelled by previous organizers over the winter, the Branch County Fair posted the announcement that the show was going to be held on its Facebook page late Wednesday night.
The Branch County Fair Directors and Staff will be chairing the event. The Pharoahs of Angola Car Club are helping to organize it and they said on their Facebook page they are in need of volunteers to help with registration and parking along with other duties.
The name of the event has also been changed to the Branch County Car Show and Swap Meet.
The 2025 show is scheduled to be held rain or shine on Friday, May 9 and Saturday, May 10 which will be a departure from the Saturday-Sunday schedule of the past.
According to a poster for the event, the swap meet will be held on Friday the ninth from noon until 6:00 p.m. with the swap meet and car show on Saturday the tenth from 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m..
More details about the revamped event will be announced in the near future and there is a new Facebook page for the renamed show.
We first reported in late January that the status of the Coldwater Swap Meet and Car Show for 2025 was very much up in the air.
A vendor who pre-paid for this year’s show got a notice in the mail saying this year’s show has been cancelled due to “unforeseen circumstances”. The letter included a refund of the money the vendor paid.
There was some confusion as to who was exactly in charge since questions on the event’s Facebook page went unanswered. A link to a web site for the show was also broken.
