ST. JOHNS, MI (WTVB) – Coldwater High School divers Ben Travelbee and Ivan McConnell both qualified for the M.H.S.A.A. Division Three Finals on Thursday night at the Diving Regionals hosted by St. Johns.
They both competed in a 21 person field and qualified for the state meet by finishing in the top 11.
Travelbee was fourth after the first five dives while McConnell was ninth which allowed them to advance to the second round.
They qualified for the final stage after Travelbee moved up to second after eight dives while McConnell was 11th.
Travelbee finished second with a score of 285.85 while McConnell finished eighth with a final score of 233.60.
Travelbee and McConnell advanced to the state Division Three meet which will be hosted by Eastern Michigan University on March 14 and 15.
