COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – With the warmer temperatures returning, the City of Coldwater announced on Monday that the Department of Municipal Services will be back out on the streets for brush pick up and yard waste removal throughout the city starting on April 7.
While yard waste pickup will continue weekly until the end of October, aside from special collections after storms, brush pickup occurs twice in the spring and twice in the fall.
The 2025 brush collection dates are April 7, May 5, October 6, and November 3.
Coldwater residents are reminded that brush needs to be out by 8:00 a.m. on the morning of the pickup date. It also has to be placed on the curb with the cut end facing the street and no root systems are allowed.
Brush should be eight inches or less in diameter. Residents are also asked to keep brush out of the street.
Items such as twigs, leaves and grass clippings must be bagged in paper yard waste bags which will be picked up weekly.
Residents who miss brush pickup still have the opportunity to discard it at no-cost at the compost site at 45 Industrial Ave.
The compost site is open year-round, Monday through Friday, from 8:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m.. It is open on Saturdays from 9:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. April through November.
