COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Coldwater City Council gave their permission for South Monroe between U.S. 12 and West Pearl to be shut down for a pair of events on Monday night.
The first would be the 15th annual Branch County Coalition Against Domestic and Sexual Violence Walk A Mile in Their Shoes on Saturday April 26.
The event will include a 5K run\walk, a March Against Domestic Violence, and a Walk A Mile in Their Paws,.
South Monroe would be shut down that Saturday from 6:00 a.m. until 12 noon.
The second event would be new as a Hispanic Heritage Month Kick-off hosted by the Coldwater Hispanic Heritage Coalition.
The Coalition’s Carmen Cardenas says the event will take place on Saturday, September 13.

The free street festival would run that day from 4:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and will feature traditional music, dance performances, educational booths and arts and crafts.
South Monroe would be shut down that day from 2:00 p.m. until 11:00 p.m..
