OVID TOWNSHIP, MI (WTVB) – Michigan State Police and the Southwest Enforcement Team were busy on Wednesday executing search warrants at four locations in Branch County.
Three of the warrants were executed at properties on Warren Road near Quimby Road, the other was executed in the 800 block of Marshall Road.
There was a large police presence in the area of Warren and Quimby Roads as evidence was collected as part of a reported illegal hash oil manufacturing operation.
The Lakeland Fire Department was called in on a standby basis.
Police seized nearly 2,000 pounds of marijuana along with numerous other suspected illegal drugs and three rifles.
The investigation is continuing. No arrests have been made yet but information will be forwarded to the Branch County Prosecutor’s office for possible warrants. The number of suspects who are possibly involved is also not known.
No official statement or news release on the police action has been released by the State Police or SWET.
