Allene Travis, 91, of Quincy passed away Wednesday, March 12, 2025 at Ascension Borgess in Kalamazoo.
Per Allene’s request, cremation has taken place and there will be no services or calling hours. Interment will take place in Lakeview Cemetery in Quincy.
Arrangements are entrusted to the Eagle Funeral Home-George White Chapel in Quincy.
She was born January 1, 1934 in Morenci to Mack and Eleanor (Rost) Cummings. Allene married Larry Travis on January 30, 1955 and he preceded her in death in 2011.
Allene graduated from Hillsdale High School in 1952. While her kids were in school she worked as a cook at Quincy Schools. Allene loved cooking, watching television, listening to audio books, reading and gardening.
Allene is survived by two daughters, Dawn Wilkinson, Traci (Keith) Horn; one son, Larry J. Travis Jr. all of Quincy; five grandchildren, Nick (Dominick) Travis, Jon (Brandi) Travis, Chris Travis, Emily (David) Travis and Jennifer (Zack) Brenke and seven great-grandchildren with one on the way.
In addition to her husband, Larry, Allene was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Elizabeth Travis; two brothers and three sisters.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the American Heart Association.
