COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Coldwater Community Schools Board of Education approved renovations to the Rotary Softball Complex next the Max Larsen Elementary School on Monday night.
Among the changes will be new infield dirt on the varsity diamond which was described on the agenda as “54 tons of washing ball mix.”
Coldwater High School Athletic Director Todd Farmer explained the mix will come in handy during rainy weather.
Snyder and Sons Excavating submitted a quote of just under $7,300 for the work.
School Board President Ed Lake said an anonymous donation will cut the cost for the district.
The work will include the installation of a warning track in front of the outfield fence.
The first home game for the Coldwater varsity girls softball team is scheduled to be on April 2 against Bronson.
