BRANCH COUNTY, MI (WTVB) – Multiple lines of storms pushed through Branch and surrounding counties Sunday evening triggering several tornado and severe thunderstorm warnings in Branch, St. Joseph, Calhoun, Hillsdale, and Steuben counties.
Although there were no reports of major structural damage power was knocked out to thousands of Consumer customers across the area including more then 3,000 in Branch County and over 10,000 in Calhoun County. CBPU also reported scattered outages in Coldwater. There was also a report of a car being blown off the road during the second round of storms.
Branch County Central dispatch says there were downed utility poles and tree across roads county wide that will take time to clear.
There were reports of multiple trees down in downtown Tekonsha and emergency crews had the access blocked. Several large trees were taken down in the City of Coldwater, including one that blocked the roadway and took down utility lines at Grand and Clay Streets, adjacent to Max Larsen Elementary.

Temperatures are expected to fall into the 30’s for Monday with another chance of severe weather arriving by Wednesday.
