COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Branch County Board of Commissioners formally approved a five month consultant contract with Ovid Township Treasurer and former Branch County Treasurer Julie Waterbury during their meeting on Friday.
She would as a consultant between July 1 and December 15 of this year. Administrator Frank Walsh wanted to contract with someone who has a municipal finance background to work with Deputy Administrator Jessica Miller.
Commissioners approved an option to hire Waterbury over a second option presented by Walsh to contract with an auditing firm.
Waterbury is a CPA and Walsh says she has a vast knowledge of municipal finance.
The financial technical support contract with Waterbury would pay $100 per hour for up to 200 hours of professional CPA training. The money to pay for the contract was set aside in the 2025 budget.
