UNION CITY, MI (WTVB) – Branch County track teams had a great day Friday at Alumni Field for the Union City Invitational, and Coldwater led the way by winning both the boys and girls competitions.
The Cardinal boys finished with 153 points, well ahead of second place Vicksburg’s 95 points, with Union City and Quincy tied for third with 64 points each. The Lady Cards had 171.75 points, Union City was second with 94.75 points, and Quincy finished third with 82.75 points.
Kendall Austin was a triple winner for Coldwater, taking first in the boys long jump and both hurdle races. Jackson Reilly won the shot put, and the team of Drew Vanderpuyl, Luke Aerts, Samuel Pernia, and Claudel Wischmeyer won the 4x800m relay. The Cardinal girls had 12 events winners, including a sweep of all four metric relay races. Three girls won two events apiece: Miyah Moore in the 100m and 200m, Ella Grabowski in the 400m and long jump, and Gwen Eby in the 800m and 1600m. In addition, Marie Powers won the shot put, and Elli Foley was first in the discus.
Union City’s winners were Brady Anthony in the boys pole vault, the boys 4x400m and 4×200 yard relay teams, and Skyler Fraley in the girls 3200m. For Quincy, Noah Rufenacht won the boys high jump, Ashlyn Fickle won the girls high jump, and Brookelyn Parker won both girls hurdle races.

SCHOOLCRAFT, MI – Bronson ran at the Schoolcraft Invitational on Friday, The boys team finished fifth with 67.5 points, while the girls were eighth with 38 points.
The Vikings had two event winners: Stevie Wilson in the boys long jump, and Miriam Sanchez in the girls 1600m.
