Darlyn S. Rohloff, 82, of Coldwater, passed away Monday, April 28, 2025 at Insight Hospital and Medical Center Coldwater.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, May 2, 2025 at 9:00 a.m. at St. Charles Borromeo Church in Coldwater with Rev. Fr. Dan Hyman officiating. Interment will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery.
Visitation will be held Thursday, May 1, 2025 from 5:00-8:00 p.m. with the Rosary to begin at 7:30 p.m. at Dutcher Funeral Home in Coldwater.
Darlyn was born January 1, 1943 in Detroit, MI to Donald & Jeanette (Pieruske) Nettleman. She married Francis “Frank” Rohloff June 3, 1961 in Bronson. He preceded her in death on August 6, 1991.
Darlyn met William “Bill” Coats in 1997. They spent 22 years together and were engaged for many of those years. He preceded her in death October 8, 2019.
Darlyn was a dedicated wife, mother and homemaker. She earned her real estate license and worked as a secretary at various local businesses. She worked for many years at Consolidated Freightways and then for the Department of Corrections, Florence Crane and Lakeland Facilities, retiring in 2010.
Darlyn was a member of St. Charles Borromeo Church. She enjoyed reading, taking care of her home and traveling throughout Europe. She also really enjoyed spending winter months in Mexico.
Darlyn adored her family and treasured the time they spent together, especially with her grandchildren.
Darlyn is survived by her children Aaron (Patti) Rohloff of Commerce Twp., Derek (Kelli) Rohloff of Grass Lake, her daughter Marjan (Dirk) Van de Peer Weyn of Bevern Waas, Belgium; 3 brothers, 2 sisters; brothers and sisters-in-law John (Joan) Rohloff of Coldwater, Michelle Rohloff of Coldwater; her grandchildren Matthew (Alison) Rohloff, Grant (Haleigh) Rohloff, Evann (Taylor) Rohloff, Elyse (Jake) Rohloff; her great grandchildren Marshall, Ruby, Harvey, Letti, Billie and many special nieces, nephews and close friends.
In addition to her husband and Bill, Darlyn was preceded in death by two infant brothers, her sisters-in-law Mary Pierson, Teresa Rittenhouse and brothers-in-law David Rohloff and Paul Pierson.
Memorials may be directed to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
