COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Despite getting outshot 14-2, Coldwater’s girls soccer team was able to salvage a 1-1 tie against visiting Jackson Northwest Friday night.
The Mounties struck first, as Grace McCall scored with 29:05 left in the first half. The Cardinals got the equalizer on a Aivry Chavez penalty kick with 28:19 left. The game got rugged in the second half, as six yellow cards were issued in total.
Abby Garcia recorded 13 saves in goal as Coldwater improved to 5-7-1 overall, 0-3-1 in the Interstate 8. THey will host Lake Odessa Lakewood Tuesday on Senior Night.
Northwest won the JV match 3-0.
