Ralph William Paradine, 84, passed away peacefully May 7, 2025 surrounded by his loved ones at his home.
A devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend, Ralph lived a life marked by hard work, faith, and selfless service.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, May 13, 2025 from 3:00-6:00 p.m. at Dutcher Funeral Home in Coldwater with Military Honors presented at 3:00 p.m. by the American Legion, Post #52 Drill Team.
Born April 21, 1941, Ralph served proudly in the United States Navy for four years before embarking on a 37-year career as an electrician. He later founded and operated his own business, Paradine Electric, for a decade, earning a reputation for excellence and integrity.
November 1, 1964 Ralph married the love of his life, Arthena Higginbotham in Coldwater, MI. Together, they raised two sons: Randall Paradine (spouse Fred Wootten) of St. Petersburg, FL, and Bret Paradine (spouse Toni) of Coldwater, MI. Ralph was a proud grandfather to Michael and Bryant, and a cherished great-grandfather to five great-grandchildren.
Ralph’s deep faith guided every aspect of his life. He served as a trustee at Lockwood Church, sat on the Board of Directors at World Harvest, and was deeply involved with First Baptist Church as an elder and member of the Finance Board. He was currently attending Reading Baptist Church. His dedication to service extended into the community—he was a Little League Coach, Boy Scout leader, wired homes for Habitat for Humanity, and managed the Habitat Resale Store for nine years.
Ralph was preceded in death by his parents, Bertrand and Helen Paradine, two brothers, Ron Paradine and Duane Paradine and his niece Marsha Garr. He is survived by his sister, Beverly Zeluff and many nieces and nephews.
He will be remembered for his unwavering faith, tireless service, and the deep love he shared with family, friends, and neighbors. His legacy lives on through the many lives he touched and the values he exemplified.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Gentiva Hospice Foundation and the Multiple Sclerosis Foundation in Ralph’s memory.
