BRONSON, MI (WTVB) – It was a busy Saturday night for the Bronson Fire Department, responding to a pair of accidents and structure fire within a matter of hours.
Crews were first dispatched just after 8:00 p.m. to a car that had crashed into a house in the 400 block of Orland Road. Arriving units found a vehicle with the entire front end inside the home and the engine compartment protruding into the basement.
According to a post on the department’s Facebook page there were no injuries.
While responding to the accident on Orland Road, the Bronson Fire Department was also dispatched to a structure fire on Holmes Road, where arriving crews found a single-story home fully engulfed in flames.
Burr Oak Fire was called for mutual aid assistance. 10,000 gallons of water was used to extinguish the blaze.
One dog perished in the fire. The occupants did not have renters’ insurance. The house and contents were a total loss.
The occupants were home when the fire broke out. One person was evaluated by Lifecare Ambulance personnel for smoke inhalation. Firefighters were on scene for just over four hours.
