BATTLE CREEK, MI (WTVB) – Coldwater’s boys golf team participated in the Interstate 8 Conference Championship Wednesday at the Cedar Creek Golf Course in Battle Creek and came away with a fifth place finish on the day, shooting a team score of 337. The Cardinals also finished fifth in the final league standings.
Dracyn Foster led Coldwater on the day, firing a round of 82. Due to his play throughout both conference jamborees and the tournament, Foster received All-Conference Honorable Mention recognition. Coldwater’s other scores came from Braydon Wilkins with an 83, Joe Searls with an 84, and Jake Fosdick with an 88. Cooper Otto carded an 89, and Colten Calhoun had a 94.
Marshall won the tournament with a team score of 295, but ended up in second place in the final I-8 standings. Harper Creek won the conference championship once the scores from both jamborees and the tournament were combined.

Teams receive points based on their finish in each 9-hole segment of the two conference jamborees – 8 points for first, 7 for second, etc. In the conference tournament, points are awarded based on each team’s 18-hole score – 16 for first, 14 for second, etc.
