UNION CITY, MI (WTVB) – The Quincy Orioles advanced to the semifinals of the Division Three baseball districts at Union City on Tuesday evening as they romped past the Homer Trojans 13-2 at Alumni Field.
The Orioles took advantage of a shaky Homer defense to build an 11-0 lead through three-and-a-half innings.
Jimmy Maynard led the Quincy offense with four hits including two doubles and two RBI’s. Mason Graves added two hits while Zak Rubley added a two-run single.
Winning pitcher Brennan Allman struck out four as he pitched the first five innings.
The Orioles are now 17-12. They will play the host Union City Chargers in the semifinals at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday morning.
Bronson will face Centreville in the second semifinal at around noon. The winners will meet for the district Saturday afternoon at around 2:30 p.m.
