Thad Alan James, 59, of Union City passed away Sunday, May 25, 2025 at University of Michigan Hospital in Ann Arbor.
In keeping with Thad’s wishes, he will be cremated and no public services will be held. He will be privately interred at Riverside Cemetery in Union City.
The family is being served by Lighthouse Funeral & Cremation in Union City.
Thad was born April 25, 1966 to LaVern “Buster” and Sharon Rose (Wilson) James in Coldwater, Michigan. He attended Union City High School and later earned a Bachelors Degree from Western Michigan University.
Thad worked as a general laborer over the years and he cherished his 1968 Chevy Camaro.
Thad is survived by his sisters, Gail Schafer of Union City, Polly (Alan) Hanson of Union City, and Brenda James-White of Glyndon, MD; his brothers, Bryan James of Mesick, and Will (Courtney) James of Kalamazoo; his nieces Mia, Alana, Kelsey, Emily, and Amelia; his nephew, Sam; and his several great-nieces, great-nephews and cousins.
Thad was preceded in death by his parents.
