LOWELL, MI (WTVB)- In a thrilling display of speed and strength, the Quincy Orioles middle school track team capped off their season at the MEGASTAR State Track Meet in Lowell, Michigan. The event brought together top athletes from across West Michigan, all of whom had to meet qualifying standards to earn their spot on the championship arena. Quincy proudly sent 14 standout athletes to compete on this grand stage.
Our 14 qualifying athletes for our MEGASTAR event were: Corbin Brewer, Reid House, Kolton Marquart, Dylan Musser, DJ Poore, Ben Romine, Anderson Suever, Alexstyn Deal, Gracin Hemker, Riley Myers, Gabby Norris, Bailey Porter, Alexis Reif, and Mackenzie Sattison.
Despite another rainy day – a recurring theme throughout the season – the Orioles showed determination, and conditions didn’t dampen the spirit or performance of these young athletes, five of whom earned medals by placing in the top six of their respective events.
Our medal winners for the night: Dylan Musser second 55H, fourth 200H; Gabby Norris fourth shot put; Mackenzie Sattison sixth pole vault; and Riley Myers fourth long jump.
The girls team secured 14th place overall, while the boys finished 11th – both commendable results considering the level of talent at the meet. The meet marked a successful close to a great season for the Quincy squad.
With the MEGASTAR meet in the books, the future looks bright for the Quincy Orioles track and field program. Look out for these great athletes next year!!
